Company history
Company VUM, a.s. is situated not far away from town Žiar nad Hronom, which lies in centre of Slovakia, in the valley of river Hron. Company has its seat directly on arterial and railway road Bratislava - Banská Bystrica.
Plant was builded in 50th years of last century and as a part of aluminium combine of ZSNP factory it served for anode paste production for fabrication of primary aluminium with SĹ‘derberg technology.
The production plant was modernised in a continuous way, especially during the 1990s, when a substantial change in the orientation of production was made, introducing a larger accent on the production of electrode paste and calcined materials. Simultaneously, there were made investments into technologies and facilities securing the occupational safety and environmental protection, which enabled VUM to acquire the IMS Certificate.
